Coast Guard House
Location: 40 Ocean Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island (Narragansett Pier)
Description: Coast Guard House is widely known among Rhode Island locals for it's excellent seafood menu. As you can see in the picture above, it's located right on the water, so the view while dining is most definitely a bonus. The inside dining area is very classy and elegant. There is a huge wrap around deck on the second floor for outdoor dining when it's nice out. So far this year URI students have made Coast Guard House there destination on Friday nights. Because it of the large amount of people in attendance, half of them are usually outside on the deck, and due to weather this can't happen year round. Meaning, Coast Guard is a seasonal venue when it comes to big bar nights.
Entertainment: URI nights (Fridays) so far this year Coast Guard House has hired popular local DJ's who also attend URI, such as DJ Ryan Scott and DJ RJ, who really bring in the crowd.
Dress code: If I were going out to dinner at Coast Guard House I would probably dress up a bit because the setting is so nice but I don't think I'd feel out of place going in casual attire. When it comes to the bar at night, everyone is usually dressed up very nicely.
My favorite part: My favorite part of Coast Guard House is layout. There's so much space for dancing inside on the top floor and than also so much space out on the deck to be social!
Service: On a 1-10 scale with 10 being the highest I give Coast Guard a 9. I've waited a really long time for a drink before, but it's not the service it's how crowded it can be. They have multiple bars and a lot of bartenders that always are working very efficiently, it's can just get really crowded.
